This is a graph we learned about in class today, this graph explains why when you work out hard for a few days and when you step on the scale you either are the same weight , or have gained a pound or two.. simple, The influence of water loss from plasma during exercise leads to sequence of events that promotes sodium (Na+) and water re-absorption from the renal tubules, thereby reducing urine production. In the hours after exercise when fluids are consumed, the elevated concentration cause an increase in extracellular volume and an expansion of plasma volume.
note* This is the same type of thing as starvation and fat storage in the body!
